Academy
The Academy of the Skilled Trades houses three unique and exciting programs.
Programs within this academy include Automotive Technology, Construction Technology and Welding programs. Scholars who are enrolled in one of these three two-year programs are trained to be employable, skilled, and competitive, in the local and/or global trades workforce. Scholars are prepared to seek immediate employment and/or further education through innovative hands-on workforce development training.

Auto Tech
Automotive repair, maintainance and service
Scholars in the Automotive Technology Program use cutting-edge software to repair today’s foreign and domestic highly sophisticated automobiles. In addition to hands-on experience working with vehicles, scholars will also be exposed to the operations of a full-service automotive shop learning how to troubleshoot complex automotive systems using the same advanced diagnostic and repair equipment as Master Technicians.

Construction Technology
Hands-on learning of carpentry and electrical skills
Scholars in this program experience all aspects of construction by building a house from the ground up. This course will help scholars design and construct hands-on projects using carpentry and electrical tools and equipment used by professionals. Scholars will also interpret blueprints and specifications to construct wood products and structures from rough lumber to finish grade.

Welding
Advanced welding and fabrication
In the Welding program, scholars will manipulate the power of fire and electricity to design and construct the metal products people use every day. Our welding scholars operate the same advanced welding and fabrication equipment used by professionals to create, build, assemble, and repair metal projects utilizing industrial and artistic welding techniques.
