The Academy of the Arts houses several new and exciting programs.
Programs within this academy include Real-time 3D Technology, Music Production & Recording and Video & Audio Broadcasting programs. In this academy, enrolled scholars are part of a creative community with programs led by industry professionals and are engaged in valuable and authentic learning experiences. Whether a scholar chooses to pursue further education or immediately enter industry, s/he will be equipped with hands-on experience and a portfolio of work.

Video & Audio Broadcasting
Still photography, editing and camera work
Scholars in the Digital Cinema and Photography program will gain skills in Adobe and computer applications for still photography, editing, and camera work, as well as hands-on learning opportunities in our TV production studio. This program will lead to careers relating to photography, photojournalism and telecommunications.

Real-time 3D Technology
Video game design, 3D art, AR and VR
The Real-time 3D Technology program is designed for the world of entertainment, arts, and technology. In this program, scholars learn how to develop video games, create 3D worlds, animate 3D characters, and develop AR and VR experiences. This knowledge prepares scholars who wish to enter the Mobile App and Video Game industry with vast knowledge in Design, Programming, 3D Art, and Animation. The skills learned throughout this program will open the doors to endless possibilities in industries such as Game Design, App Design, Film, Architectural Visualization, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and Virtual Reality.

Music Production & Recording
Music creation, production, and recording
The Music Production & Recording program is designed to provide a thorough and comprehensive understanding of music creation, production, and recording for our Youngstown City School District scholars. After learning foundational concepts in music theory and composition, scholars will explore an array of complex applications used in the music industry including: digital audio, workstation technology, and advanced audio engineering techniques using industry equipment and software. Housed within the Academy of the Arts, this program will collaborate to bring audio and music to our Audio & Video Broadcasting program as well as to enhance the Metaverse and gaming applications being built in our Interactive App & Game Design program.
